It's a challenge for Australia to achieve unprecedented feats.

The top summits have already been conquered.

This is the team that has secured seven Cricket World Cups, plus an additional six T20 titles, and previously enjoyed 1,294 days unbeaten in 50-over cricket.

The remaining milestones, those for the achievement hunters, are all that remain for a side that has accomplished all there is.

That it took as late as Sunday's success by three wickets over India for them to achieve their initial ODI chase above 300, taking back their record for the largest in the women's 50-over format, is, honestly, a compliment to the pitchers that have worn canary yellow over five decades.

It's challenging for their batters to hold a record if not afforded the opportunity.

Ultimately, the result of Australia conceding 330 was skipper Alyssa Healy receiving a platform to create her latest masterpiece.

Initially recognized as the young family member of celebrated previous Aussie wicketkeeper Ian, she made her debut in 2010 after Australia failed to win either of the T20 or ODI World Cups conducted earlier and has witnessed all through 15 championship-filled years since.

A T20 World Cup win came three months after her debut and seven international trophies have come from 10 tries across formats.

The gritty keeper was also there in Derby in 2017 when a last-four loss by India temporarily stopped the winning streak.

That loss "pushed us to reevaluate our levels," Healy said this week.

At the next 50-over World Cup in New Zealand, Healy made 170 against England in the final and was awarded tournament MVP. She ensured her country would not fall short again.

Whether this newest brilliant performance exceeded that prior achievement is debatable.

Many contend the case for championship match pressure. Different voices suggest with the challenge that comes when confronting a historic chase and a loud pro-India audience of 20,000.

What is certain is this century was considerably tougher to anticipate.

The Christchurch destruction in 2022 happened while she was the highest scorer, but this performance came after six matches in India since the start of last month in which she had not exceeded 30 runs.

"If you've been watching me in the nets, it was a frustrating experience because I feel like I've had no rhythm at all," said Healy.

"However when you take the field, your competitive instincts take over and you simply focus on the competition."

She achieved fifty in 35 balls - her quickest at the global tournament - and her hundred in 84 as she punished short deliveries, striking 21 boundaries and three maximums.

Once she was removed the team needed 66 more at run per delivery - a manageable total now demanding an easy conclusion.

"To chase 330 is uncharted waters so I'm happy we have the assurance to do that now," stated Healy further.

"Preferably we shouldn't have to repeat it but, if necessary, we believe we can do it."

That comment will be the ultimate thing Australia's opponents at this tournament should hear.

During the last week a sense they will win from any position has grown stronger - this victory coming after success over Pakistan by 107 runs despite being 76-7 at a certain moment.

Next Australia play Bangladesh before a meeting with longtime competitors England in Indore in a week and a half, by which point a semi-final berth may likely be confirmed.

It was at that stage they left the prior year's T20 World Cup in a surprising setback by South Africa - an encounter Healy couldn't play because of ruptured tissue in her foot as she guided Australia for the first time at an important competition.

Such is her determination, she subsequently stated she wanted to have participated with the discomfort.

However although she afterwards confessed those fitness problems have delayed consideration of ending her career, this World Cup is likely to be her final tournament as skipper in ODI cricket and she is yet to win a world championship as leader.

Victory in India would lead her to the peak of her ultimate challenge.
